Every four years, our calendar gets an extra day.
Why? It takes the earth about 365 days and 6 hours to circle once around the sun. To make up for those extra 6 hours, an extra day is added to our calendar every four years to keep us aligned with the Earth’s yearly journey.
February 29, 2016 makes 2016 a year of 366 days.
What will you do with that extra time?
As a small business owner, you might often feel like there are never enough days in the week, so this is your chance to take advantage of an extra one being thrown your way!
1. Refresh Your Content
When’s the last time you sat down and actually read through your website? You probably don’t do it too often, because there are more urgent tasks to get done. Take an hour or two to read your content online and work on updating it. Get rid of outdated information and add some new color to what you’re saying online.
2. Educate Yourself
You may not always feel like you have the time to learn about different ways to market your business. Why not use the extra day to do some reading? Dig into the how-to’s of some new marketing tactics you want to start:
You’ve got a whole 24 hours of extra time this year to get up to speed on the latest and greatest digital marketing tactics. Whether it’s learning something new or improving your skills in a tool you already use, it’s time to take advantage.
3. Respond to Your Customers
We know it feels great to get a good review online. What’s even better is when you use those reviews to engage with your customer base. If someone took the time to share an experience online, positive or negative, they felt passionate about it. Respond! Thank them for their business and loyalty. Or, if it was a negative review, try to win them back through excellent customer service.
No matter what you do with the extra day, make the most of it. It only happens once every four years! If you decide to treat yourself to a break instead – go for it – we think you deserve it!
